Drunk in Love

Many people compare being in love to being drunk, crazy, foolish, etc. They want to love and be loved completely and unconditionally. Love is nothing if not a passionate and overwhelming (in a good way of course) affair.

Other people are more comfortable with a love that isn’t as wild but more of a simple love. Which is perfectly okay, I mean love is love, so to each their own.

This is the chemical formula for love:

dopamine, seratonin, oxytocin.

It can be easily manufactured in a lab, but overdosing on any of them can cause schizophrenia, extreme paranoia, and insanity.

Let that sink in.

I, personally feel that the all encompassing and utterly passionate love is better. When you love someone so much that you are absolutely crazy for them. When you are willing to die for them or do anything for them. Yes, obviously this kind of love is extremely reckless and possibly even dangerous but it’s completely worth it and is fun and exciting.. it’s full of surprises, what’s not to love. If you are going to be in a relationship, then you want to give it your all, otherwise what’s the point?

But I don’t want small talk. Text me, and without saying hello, tell me why you got so angry at your sister this morning. Tell me why you have a scar shaped like Europe on the left side of your neck. Send me paragraphs about the time you spent at your grandmother’s house that one summer. Call me when I’m half asleep and tell me why you believe in God. Tell me about the first time you saw your dad cry. Go on for hours about things that may not seem important because I promise that I’ll be hanging on to every word you say. Tell me everything. I don’t want someone who just talks about the weather.

However, sometimes, it’s hard to let your guard down enough to let someone into your heart and into your life. Especially if your heart has been broken before. Despite this, I think that the end result is deserving of whatever you have to go through because everyone needs or at least craves love or compassion. It’s just a part of human nature. And pain is always inevitable so you might as well just focus on the happy part of love rather than wallowing about the cons.

All in all, I feel like love is something that should be experienced by everyone, whether you prefer the wild or the simple love.

Okay thanks for reading everybody and I hope that someday you will meet that one person that loves you for you!!!
